Kids for Ghana. The Logba Tota Project

Did you know that children in Ghana like in The Netherlands are required to go to school. Only, there is no oversight by the governement and that results into a 50% illiteracy.

Logba Tota is situated in the south-east of Ghana and has, together with the surrounding villages, 6000 inhabitants. The village can be found on top of a mountain so the accesibility is harsh. The majority of the inhabitants are farmers and can support themselves in their first needs. To improve the basic supplies of the village, people have started several initiatives the last years. This has resulted in the realization of the following projects: A health clinic, an ambulance, a solar-energy supported fridge to keep a serum against snake bites (death cause no. 1 in the village), a waterpump, an elementaryschool and soon there will be electricity in the school as well.

Arnold Michel, owner of Cobra Café is one of the initiators of the Logba Tota Project. Fore more info: go to Kids For Ghana.
